AZERBAIJANI INITIATIVE

Sabina could not believe that she had found it! As soon as she entered the house she said to the church planter, “I know you and your wife. Sixteen years ago you shared the Gospel in the area where I lived!”

What? Sixteen years ago? Well, Sabina was only ten years old when she and her family heard about Jesus.  As a devout Muslim, Sabina’s father told the evangelist couple that they were Muslim and they were not interested in hearing about Jesus. Even though her family did not want to know about Jesus, the seed of the Gospel was planted in Sabina’s heart.

So, sixteen years later Sabina finally found a house-church where she was able to learn more about Jesus. Having accepted Jesus as her Savior she was overjoyed.  As she sat in the house-church she had searched and longed for, she hung on every word that was being taught.

Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Matthew 13:8

Sabina is only one example of hundreds of life-changing stories of former Azerbaijani Muslims coming to know about Jesus and connecting to a local church community. Today, there are over 50 million Azerbaijani people around the world with only 0.11% of them professing Christ as their Lord, thus they remain categorized as an unreached people group.  You can help us to reach out to more “Sabinas” around the world!
