A Blessing We Waited for So Long

My name is Deepak Kumar, and I am from India. I come from a Hindu background.

My wife, Rinku, and I used to worship many gods. We celebrated all of the festivals and traditions of Hinduism, and we even invited Brahmin Gurus (Hindu priests) to our house to organize different Hindu rituals. We did all this to find peace, but no matter how much we tried, the result was never peace.

I got married in 2015. After two years of marriage, we could not have children, so we began to worry and started going to the hospital for medical treatment to get pregnant. Not only did we go to the doctor, but we also performed exorcisms and did many religious rituals, and chanted tantrum mantras to get a child. However, time went by, and nothing worked.

One day, some people came to my neighbor’s house in my village to pray. I felt curious, so I went to their home to hear how they prayed. During the prayer, I saw a woman start screaming, and after some time, she started crying. Then a demon started to speak. The girl used to worship the demon, so he was in control of the girl for a long time, but now he was distraught that the girl went to church, so he wanted to kill her. The pastor came to my neighbor’s house and began praying for the girl and casting out the evil spirit.

As I witnessed this event, I was shocked. I was trying to understand what had happened and what kind of power delivered the girl from that demon. It was then that I started to believe in Jesus. I asked the pastor if I could join their prayer meetings. The pastor then invited me to go every Sunday, so I started attending. During the prayer and worship meeting, my wife and I finally began to feel peace in our hearts.

As I witnessed this event, I was shocked. I was trying to understand what had happened and what kind of power delivered the girl from that demon. It was then that I started to believe in Jesus.

One day, the pastor shared the gospel and God’s love for humanity. When I heard it, I repented and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I made that decision not because I wanted to have kids, but because of the peace my family and I found in Him.

We continued attending the church, and after a few months, my whole family and I got baptized.

After two months of our baptism, my wife got pregnant! I praised God and thanked Him for his great blessings in our lives! Even though we wanted to have children, I didn’t pray about it, but still, the Lord Jesus gave us this gift without asking.

We are delighted with our Lord Jesus. We follow him, share our testimony with others, and enjoy his blessings in our life. Now, we are living very happily and praising God.
